i pulled the spare tire from below the bed and it happens to be the original tire! its a good year 2 ply nylon and the size is 8.25-15 there is no cracks and i checked the tire pressure and it showed 33 psi!! wow is this the original tire or not its on a 68 c10 lwb ill try to post pics when i get a camera
just shoot me a message if it is original

What brand tire is it?I sold my`72 K/20 Cheyenne Super Custom Camper a couple years ago.But,I was real delighted when I finally dropped the spare and it was the original optional hi-flotation tire and 8.25-16.5 wheel.Not as cool as your story,though.It didn`t have jack for air in it.some folks maintain air pressure in their spares.How long have you owned your truck?Newer tired check worse and sooner because of all the additives diluting the rubber.The original gum rubber tires don`t check.It`s possible that the tire is near virgin rubber.A friend has a`40 Harley WLD with the original Firestone Gum Dippeds,no checks.he`s owned it since`75.

When I was a teenager back in about 82/83 I went with my grandad to help him clear out the little caravan (camper/trailer I think you call em) that he and a friend had owned for years as a place to stay when they were fishing. My grandma was getting a little infirm so the fishing trips became impossible, they'd decided to clear it out, clean it up and sell it. It had been on the same patch of land ever since they bought it god knows when. ( My grandad was born in 1897!) When we got there it turned out that the carvan had wheels and tyres from a Spitfire, not the car but genuine WWII surplus aircraft wheels. They'd bought it just after the war and some enterprising manufacturer had obviously bought a load of war surplus wheels and used them on their trailers. Still had the original 1940's air in too. Wish I had been of an age to buy it, would have been pretty cool.

Sorta brand X, but my '74 VW convertible still has the original spare (never on the ground) in the trunk. Not original 1974 air, tho, since the air-in-the-spare also powers the windshield washer, & that's been aired-up a few times over the years.

the tire brand is Goodyear the load range for the tire is B i have had the truck for a week the guy i got it from said the tire has never been used and there is NO tread wear!!!!
i tried it today and i noticed a bit of improvement over ride quality!

i guess im just lucky..
