Sub mounting depth
I've got a 72' and am about to take the gas tank out from behind the seat. How deep of a wubwoofer can I mount in a custom box back there? I have two JL 12W3s right now under the rear seat of my z71 and was thinking that if I could mount them under the seat, surely I could mount them behind one... Thoughts?

Re: Sub mounting depth
Mounting depth on a new 12W3 is 6.65". Add .75" for the back wall of the box, and we are at ~7.5" Add the .5" throw, and we have arrived at the 8" mark.

Re: Sub mounting depth
Are you familiar with the Memphis slim-line subs? I have heard people swear by them but I love JL Audio (pricey, but you get a warranty on everything). I was looking at the slim line JL 13" sub.

Re: Sub mounting depth
I am a huge fan of Memphis. They make great audio products. I don't have anything against JL, but everyone has them and I like to be different.
