Hard to find parts
I have a '76 GMC K15. There are a few parts for the 73-76/77's that are hard to find, I wanted to see if you all can help. I am mostly looking for interior parts and grilles.
I have a set of doors off an '81 C10 that I want to use. So which year door panels should I look for? I also need a dash bezel, i would like to use a silver faced one like the '81 and up silverados used. Lastly, I would like a grille in better shape. I want to stay GMC and with the 73-80 front end. I also have the external hood release. I have a plethora of 81-87 parts but nothing for the 80 and down, I have checked all the usual places like LMC and Classicparts. Any other ideas? Thanks Brady

Re: Hard to find parts
81 doors are basically 77-87 doors with a few exceptions like glass thickness and the inside door handle itself so thos years would work for door panels . Dash panel had bright trim on the face of Cheyenne and Silverado models and the 78-80 dash bezel will work with the correct year dash pad . 81 and 82 will work but will require an 81/82 dash pad . The grilles can be had in good used condition . I dont think the aftermarket makes GMC grilles .

Please keep this in a "vendor/supplier" range.
If this turns toward a "want to buy" or poeple start making offers to "sell" this thread will be locked and edited (or removed) Keep it with-in the rules.

Sorry if my post seams like a wtb, but I'm really just looking for some ideas of the correct years to pull parts from. Most of what I see at vendors exclude alot of the early 73-76 GMC specific parts, I need to know what other years will work. I just need some one to point me in the right direction

I have a set of cherry '81 doors with power that are going on the 81 C10. The doors that are currently on the C10 will come off and the guts will come out and go into some '86 blazer doors I have and go on the '76 K15. I think I need the 77-80 door panels for this one. (please correct me if I'm wrong on the fit). Is that confusing enough? I found 77-80 dash panels @ brothers called blac/silver or balck/chrome. I am assuming that is the style I am after. What makes a instrument panel a 73-76 or 77-80? Sorry about all the questions. You would think a body style that ran for 18 years would be easier than this. Thanks

Re: Hard to find parts
I know about the differences in the cluster but what about the bezel?
