Tansfer case spacer?? Basic question

Well lifted my 77 roughly 4-5 inch. It goes okay but I think it has some vibes. I have seen alot of people taking the inch or so spacers that are on the T case crossmeber bolts and putting them between the frame and cross member. Will this put added stress on my motor mounts??? Could this cause cracking around the holes in the frame? I am not happy about the idea of lowering the T case and loosing ground clearance but I want to get this rig going and get some wheeling in before the snow flies.

Thanks and I know it is kinda a lame question

Re: Tansfer case spacer?? Basic question

I lowered mine a long time ago. Used the spacers then got some aluminum spacers made after I found out they helped. Never replaced the motor mounts and no cracks that I know of.

Re: Tansfer case spacer?? Basic question

i used 1x2 rectangle tubing. nice solid mounting surface. 1 inch of ground clearance loss at the t-case is nothing. You will never notice it. If you were going to get high centered, the 1 inch would not of made a difference either way.

Re: Tansfer case spacer?? Basic question

it's only "bad" if you have crappy mounts....
it brings your distributor closer to the fire wall.. but my solution was replace the missing/corroded body bushings..
