If it's not too late, maybe you should consider another style of clamp. Take a look at these produced by "Made 4 You products" LINK

I'm a little late, but I just did this same thing, except I re-used my original clips, that I carefully removed on teardown. I had to use plyers and kinda bend the part that sticks through the frame until it just fits in the hole, and then took a center punch tool that would fit into the hole and by prying left and right and up and down, it expanded the thing so that it snugged right up. It worked good.
