I loved the "old school" paint on the Riv.
The silver nove sounded like a "stocker" when going down the street. Look what's under the hood.

1300+ in the parade? I'd like to have been there. Lots of great looking cars n trucks there. That orange n black 69 Camaro looks tuff and with a 496 on the fender. 496 just sounds so much better than whatever litre.
And that old Dodge truck. Hell yeah it's got a Hemi! ![]()

Re: Pics from the Route 66 "Mother Road" Car Show. Springfield, IL
Yep.
I think several people come just for the parade. The starting location was about 7-8 miles away. They crammed us in a huge Shopping Center parking lot in a very orderly fashion. Then at 6:00 pm they let us go,... car by car,... row by row. The police stop all traffic along the entire parade route. Tons of people setting in lawn chairs, hollering and waving. The whole town acts like they really appreciate you coming to their car show. Then the parade ends in downtown Springfield, Il,... where they "nose" the cars into the curb, one at a time. (alot faster than people trying to back up) This entire process amazed me. Very precise directions by all the people involved with this event. I'll be back next year for sure. Look here for more info: http://www.familyevents.com/event/103
