Re: Radiator hose
No insult intended, but have you been trimming the hose to fit? They need to be cut down a little bit.

Re: Radiator hose
Have you tried the blue hoses? I cant remember but I think that they are goodyear??? I had a similar problem with my jeep and its lower hose, so I got the blue hose and have had it 2 years so far with no problems. I want to say goodyear gator hoses, but I dont think that is right.
edit* The hose is called high miler. While I was looking for that I found this also. http://www.coolflex.com/cfm/welcome.cfm Sounds like that might help also.

Re: Radiator hose
Yes I tried trimming them.. I have a flex hose now that worked great until I started it and it got hot then kinked and bent the spring in it

Re: Radiator hose
If you have a friendly parts store I always go in the back and find what I need. Bring the 74 hose and a tape measure to find one similar with the right ends. Or shove the 1.5 over the 1.75, I've done that in the past.

Re: Radiator hose
I ended up buying two different hoses cutting them roughly in the middle(it just happened that way) and using a piece chrome molly tubing inside to make the splice.
I used a Gates shrink to fit hose clamp which formed a nice clean seamless intersection.

Re: Radiator hose
I had the same problem I bought the 75 bigblock lower hose the bends are perfect and I just lubed the hell out of it till I managed to get the other end on. On the other hand this thought came to mind "take the radiator in and get the lower part where the hose goes changed out and rewelded to the right size nothing a good welder couldn't or wouldn't do...
