Studs too long
I recently put some MT mags on my 76 K10 and the rear studs were too short. It took me awhile to find some longer studs. I also had to look long and hard and finally found some small diameter lug nuts for the MTs. Well these are just a little too long now. Didn't find out until I had run the stud thru the end of one.
I don't know if I can find deeper small diameter lug nuts so I thought about cutting off the studs a little. I have no air and no way to cut them except with a hack saw. Will that heat the metal too much and soften it or is that ok? Any suggestions |

Re: Studs too long
If you get it that hot with a hacksaw.....you are going to need an ambulance for yourself. LOL
No, you aren't going to hurt a thing, it's just rather hard work.

Re: Studs too long
LOL. We don't have to worry about me going too fast. I think I'll go buy an electric grinder or break down and buy some air. I have a die grinder if it still works. All my tools were stolen two years ago and I'm still trying to get back to my last baseline.
