Pto
I have another question fellas, my 1 Ton dually has a PTO. I am thinking of removing it because I won't use it.
Is there anything I should know before I take it off? Should I even take it off? There are two hoses that are bagged up on the open end toward the rear of the truck(prior Tow Truck). What could I use this for if I decide to keep it? Is there a block-off plate that covers where this thing goes if it comes off of the truck? Thanks guys. |

Re: Pto
the hoses are prolly for a wet line or hydraulic system for either a wheel lift or for the boom the take off prolly goes to a hydraulic pump and there is prolly a holding tank on there or it was part of the tow body on it.... personally if this is to be any kind of work truck or youre putting on a dump body this is a great feature

Re: Pto
What about using a winch hooked up to the PTO? for when your friends get stuck on the trail? Lol

Re: Pto
The hoses coming off the back are most likely off the pump the PTO it's self should be a 6 bolt mechanical shift (wire) unless you have air I may have a 6 bolt cover laying around, we normally throw those away but I try to keep some on hand I'll check tommorow if your interested (free).
