On my '69 they screw into the grill.

The screw into the core support triangles, not the grille.

Actually they screw into the left and right grill mounting brackets that the grill is mounted to. WES

Well on my 72 GMC it don't have them, the grille mounts different, Anyone have a 72 GMC have any feedback?

Try looking for round metal pads under the hood near the front of the hood or some other contact point that might indicate where on the core suppot or grill they should go. Old ones usually leave a residue circle on the underside of the hood after 40 years.

I'll look, were this truck was fully panited by the other owner the residue marks under the hod may not still be there.
