Need a bed
OK so my bed is hanging on by a few threads and have been looking around but most are too expensive or too shot. I have found a parts truck that is a 1972 with a solid bed. Would that bed look stupid with our body style? Probably could just use it until I find one that fits better. Need it for hauling stuff, so I guess I answered my own question. Will it bolt up?

Re: Need a bed
It probably isnt a direct bolt up but im sure with some modding it will fit

You're not allowed to do this unless you post pics.

Re: Need a bed
It's going to look rather odd since the 67-72 have a round fender opening, and 73-87 are square.
The back of the frame is totally different, so it won't come close to being an easy swap.

Re: Need a bed
Heres why...the bed is so rotted, shes swinging in the wind with the tailgate removed. I have a cargo strap sandwiching the gat together to keep it sturdy.

Re: Need a bed
I hear ya, I literally can see and walk to the LI sound from my house...this was a plow truck, so its actually in good shape. When I found her the guy was wise enough to park her on a bed of sand next to a landfill....

Re: Need a bed
Or....find a GMT400 style stepside bed.
I've seen a few 67-72's with that bed and they look like they were made for each other! The way the top of the fender on the box matches the cab back is sweet. Plus - the 400 stepside fenders are SMC plastic, so no more rust. K
