New to the 50th Club Today!
I was able to join the 50th Anniversary Club today. Probably not the most conventional way of picking up a new project. And probably not the safest thing I've done.
Also met a local shop owner here in Sacramento at the GoodGuys show in Pleasanton today. This guy specializes in '67-'72's and should be joining the site next week. His website is below: www.marquezdesign.com *Hopefully this doesn't break any forum rules... |

I agree, it is very unsafe to pull a trailer in the dark with your headlights off, otherwise looks like it worked out well.

It was actually your post that helped me confirm this was a 50th. I found it down in the East Bay area. I got it from a kid who was given the truck by his stepdad; he needed the cash to finish his 72 SWB. This was a work truck for many years and I cannot believe how unmolested it is. Everything works, including an aftermarket 2 button stereo. When I found the bumper with a hitch, I decided to load my commuter instead of making two trips last night - saved me a lot of time. The bed has a sheet of diamond plating over the original wood floor, rebuilt 350 and a turbo 400. I plan on doing some upgrades to brakes and suspension, but preserving this time capsule at the same time. Anyone have any '67-'68 dog dish caps? |

Re: New to the 50th Club Today!
A couple of quick updates:
Wheels and tires, new exhaust back from the headers with a pair of Dynomax mufflers (old Walker Super Turbo's - what a fun sound!), and ditched the rear bumper. Next up is suspension and disc conversion up front. |

Re: New to the 50th Club Today!
Thanks for you comments...This is one of the reasons our trucks are classics. They represent a part of America that has faded away to some extent.

Re: New to the 50th Club Today!
I can't bring myself to do a SWB conversion on mine. I posted my LWB in the Classifieds section this week:

I can understand. Good luck with the sale and I hope it goes to someone that appreciates it for what it is.
