Home built Antiroll bar..
Ok, I'm either cheap or like to do stuff myself. Instead of buying a antiroll bar, I decided to build one.
I bought the rod ends and 1 3/4 bushings for an RV some time ago. Tonight got a chance to actually start building it. I had some 1 3/4 tube laying around as well as some 1/4 plate that I'll make the leverage arms out of. I also happen to find some tube to tie in to my rod ends. Just need to go buy 4 nuts to weld to the tube stock so I can adjust the angle of the antiroll bar. I'll try and get some picks next time I'm goofing around with it.

Re: Home built Antiroll bar..
it helps to keep the car/truck from twisting up when it leaves the starting line.

Re: Home built Antiroll bar..
The factory one will twist a lot sooner, allowing for more rear axle wrap. The bigger thicker set up keeps the axle and chassis more level.
I found this very interesting.. http://stockcarproducts.com/tech1m.htm

Re: Home built Antiroll bar..
yup.. if you make it stiff enough you'll be able to sick a jack under one wheel and both will go up the same...

Re: Home built Antiroll bar..
Quote:
Yes and no.. The mounts I am using are very similar to factory mounts but in 1 3/4" They even mount in the factory location (with a little massaging of the factory holes). 1 3/4" tube then goen in it and I am making the leverage arms from 1/4 plate steel, cutting them out with my plasma cutter then cleaning them up with a grinder. For now I'm going to weld the leverge arms to the 1 3/4" tubing. I'm thinking about having a set cut out with a water jet along with the 1 3/4 hole to slide the tube through then weld it up on both ends (inside and out).

Re: Home built Antiroll bar..
How did this work? Did you make it to the track with it?
Pics would be nice also.

Re: Home built Antiroll bar..
I'll see if I can snap some pics tomorrow.. I can't get to the track right now due to finances (I'm out of work). Need to make house payments instead.
