Does anyone

Can any recommend someplace where I could find a barden bumper? Other then a junk yard or salvage yard of course. Any information is appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Does anyone

Just found one on craigslist. It's off of a 1976 GMC half ton. It looks like it very similar to the one in the picture below. does anyone know? Thanks!

Re: Does anyone

The shape of the bumpers look close. The tricky part is the cutout at the outer edge. The brackets do not look like mine.

I just took mine off tonight, so I could take some picture of my brackets if you like.

Re: Does anyone

That`s probably a`72 or earlier on that`76...Perfect!!
I always thought of a Bardon bumper as the type that wraps around to the wheel opening. But,I`m sure it`s the company name and they probably made both styles. They only call them that in the west.Mine (wraps to opening) looks just like that and you can see where the extension is added.Mine has the two plates at the hitch, too.

Re: Does anyone

Wow! This is weird. I just took off my Barden bumper today! Gonna put on a factory style chrome bumper instead. Was gonna haul it to the wrecking yard for scrap. If anyone wants it for free, PM me and come and get it. Oh. BTW this one is off of a 70 longbed stepside so I don't think you fleetside guys would want it.

Re: Does anyone

The bumpers posted by 67 longbed look correct with the vertical filler plate under tailgate. I would stay away from the newer model straight across type that cover too much of the sheet metal under tail lights. When new owners de-truck their pickups, this is one of the first items to go. Many are still out their at swap meets also.

Re: Does anyone

What makes these bumpers hard to find is location. A lot of guys will not ship such big items.
