Not much. Here anyway. I dont think they're rare, just not as common as chevys. Do those emblems say GMC 4000?

Re: 1964 GMC Longbox Fleetside

Maybe a couple 100 bucks. BTW, that's a stepside, not a fleetside.

Re: 1964 GMC Longbox Fleetside

GMC 910
Inline 6 235 or 292
3 on the tree
and yes, that is the correct guage panel
Eh, only in canada you say
Not really rare Ryan, there's plenty of those out there,(and chevies too)
The rear fenders are somewhat sought after(mostly by the 55-59 crowd)
Rust will determine if it's worth saving or for parts
IMHO longbeds look better as fleetsides
Welcome to the board,it's an awesome place to hang out during those PG winters

is it for sale?
how much rust?
does the owner have BC papers for it?
you could always find a fleetside box for it

Re: 1964 GMC Longbox Fleetside

I agree with the responses above. If the only damage on the hood is the small dent on the passenger corner, it's probably worth more than the rest of the truck. The long stepside beds were more common when new due to practicality. Over time they have become more rare, but not necessarily desirable. Outside of original fleet owners the long step has traditionally been the least desirable model. A switch to a fleetside bed would increase it's market value.

Re: 1964 GMC Longbox Fleetside

The truck is a very basic truck with standard equipment and no R.P.O.'s (Regular Production Options), that I can see, therefore, it is neither rare nor real desireable, but may be a good parts donor candidate. Offer to haul it off for free or horse-trade with something the owner may need. Good luck and let us know what you do.

Re: 1964 GMC Longbox Fleetside

Can we get a close up of that fender emblem? I have never seen that before.

Also, since the truck has the 60-61 American guage panel and it is a '64, did all 60-66 Canadian GMC's come with that style?

Re: 1964 GMC Longbox Fleetside

This truck is a Canadian built GMC. This truck is built with the same running gear as a 64 Chevrolet, same engines and same rear coil suspension. There are some positives to this one. The steering wheel paint is not worn down, revealing it is not a very high mileage truck. Also it still has original paint, which is very desirable today, so needed body work is more easily indentifiable. The worst thing on it is the ugly accesories added by owner: the shell and wheels. To see how good the unappreciated longbed stepsides look restored, check out ebay# 170392567705.
