6 cyl tach

I scored a 6 cyl tach/ vacuum cluster today from a local junk yard. My problem is that I have a V8 in my truck so this tach obveously won't work for me. I know that 6 cyl tachs are real hard to come by and I'm thinking about selling just the tach. In all these trucks that I have owned over the years none of them have had tachs in them. I'm wondering what this would be worth so I don't get taken.

Or.... Let 'truck karma' shower you & offer to swap someone straight up that might need that 6cyl tach (6cyl tach for a V8 tach)?

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

All 6 cyl. tachs that I have come across were cable driven. Is this one electric?

Just an fyi, all the 6 and 8 cyl. tachs are electric and go to 5k rpms. The only way to tell the difference is by the ink stamp on back of the tach head.
All the cable drive tachs are from diesel trucks and go to 4k.

Re: 6 cyl tach

It came out of a 72 GMC 2 ton V6. It is electric and it is identical to the pickup tachs.

Another FYI... the ink stamp said either 6cyl or V8.. also in ink is the part number.. 6 Cyl #6468321 ... V8 #6468226
