4" lift kit questions
I originall was going to just do a 2", but have decide to opt for a larger 4" inch lift kit. I currently have 4" lift front springs, new u bolts front and rear, know where i can get rear blocks and i am putting the 56" long springs on my half ton as some of you probably remember from my last thread. I know for sure i still need to get a different pitman arm, longer brakelines, shocks, shock boots and hardware.
But..... What about the sway bar, do i need lowering brakets for that or will it be ok How about driveshafts, will they be ok in there stock length? Dual or single steering stabilizer? Alos where is the cheapest place to get the things i still need. Thanks in advance.

Re: 4" lift kit questions
I dont know if the 84' F/S Blazers are different, but I did a 4" on my old one. The brake lines were fine as stock. Also some other input:
What about the sway bar, do i need lowering brakets for that or will it be ok? Mine was fine, no adjustment needed. How about driveshafts, will they be ok in there stock length? Mine was fine, no adjustment needed. Dual or single steering stabilizer? I kept the single and replaced it with a new Rancho. Also where is the cheapest place to get the things i still need. Craigslist, Ebay, depending how fast you want it. Or just order from a 4x4 shop, etc.

Re: 4" lift kit questions
Thanks for the input, I missed out on a complete brand new lift kit on the cl and haven't been able to find just individual piecs on ebay, just kits. The drive shaft part is a loadoff my mind. I'm sure if stock ones fit on a blazer still they should be the same on a truck.

Re: 4" lift kit questions
If I remember right... if you go more than 4"... that's when your run into more problems/mods. Hence I only went 4" o at the time...

Re: 4" lift kit questions
I would get a riased steering arm. About 60 bucks. You can do without it but your truck will not steer in one direction as much as it will with the new arm. Most 4 inch kits also give you small brackets to relocate the front brake lines under the frame if needed.

Re: 4" lift kit questions
I've noticed in all the kits online that they have the relcation brackets for the brake lines, but i'm piecing a kit together, cause a friendof mine gave me new u bolts and a sweet price on the front springs. I'm thinking about getting new brake lines any way as they are pretty old and getting dry rotted. Shoot i have to replace one of the steel lines this weekend because it rusted out.lol

Re: 4" lift kit questions
Meh, if you want it done right, you need new brake lines, longer parking brake cables, possibly longer driveshafts (front more-so) and a raised steering arm. Even then you will get bump steer.
On my K5 with flipped rear shackle, I also needed a CV on the rear driveline. I REALLY want to do X-over steering next. Bump steer gets annoying. Some of this might not apply to a '69 but the fundamentals are the same.
