new guy

Hello all, just wanted to get on here. Have been following this site for a year or more and could never get registered (maybe AOL curse ?) On comcast now and glad to be able to post finally. I want to say this is the most informative site ever, with a vast wealth of knowledge. My project is a '68 short wide that has been in the family since 1971. My dad drove it to construction jobs fourteen years before i took it over at 18 and continued to drive it on jobs and late night dates till about 1989. The 327's rings were so worn I cound'nt keep plugs in it. I pulled it and tore into it and although this motor had totally ran out of water twice and oil once, it was unbelievably clean. I decided to go "all out" with a pro street thing because that was big then, but I really did'nt have a place to work on it or the money. So, for years it sat, till I got married in 1999 and bought a home with a three car garage complete with paint booth. (The P.O. was a body man and worked his business from this shop). So, after a few years of sitting agian, I finally got to it about a year ago. Have abandoned the pro street thing. I want to keep a mostly stock look with a 454/400 combo and Chrysler 8-3/4 rear.
