I agree 100%. You don't want all the paint stripping, welding slag, and grind dust all over your motor and trans. Plus you will be a lot happier being able to stand in the engine bay to do the work.

If you can stand and be comfortable doing the job the better the results you will have.

Here are some picts of what we did when my truck was being done...We pulled everything out a hell of alot easier to work in there.
