Blazer Tank Install Questions.
I was wondering if I can move the tank back right up close to the cross member in the pick (better weight transfer) I know I need to notch the cross sills. Is it oky to heat up the filler neck and make it come out on a diffirent angle ?

I saw a post one time about heating it and bending. I want mine to come straight up but am afraid to try it.

Just got done bending the poly neck on my blazer tank. I used a long socket with a long extension. Jeremy (Green Mist Chevy) held the socket in place and kept pressure in the right direction while I used a heat gun. I kept moving it around the base of the poly neck. After about one minute the neck began to move. I shifted mine from straight out to backwards about 45 degrees in order to better clear the cross member. The whole process was about 5 minutes. I would suggest that once you quit heating you keep pressure with the socket. When it cools down it will hold its new shape. If you have not installed yours yet in terms of holes I would recommend moving it as close to the rear frame crossmember as you can. It will make things much easier for you. Take is slow on the bending and keep the gun moving. Watch for any kinking in the tank area at the base of the neck. That was my major concern but it did not occur.

When i did mine i notched the frame to clear it and didnt bend neck. i have a stepside though so i need ti coming sideways right after the frame. I was worried about weakening the frame so i figured i would box it all the way back. Then i got lazy and just drove it with a street motor for a while but once i got my big motor built i did go back and box it for saftey. It probably would not have needed it though, but the frame looks nicer boxed right.

i didnt bend my neck, didnt even know you could, i wouldnt wanna try anyways, i just notched the frame a bit
