Noob questions:

1. Should I do anything, protection wise, with the threaded/grease areas (e.g. paint, POR, etc) (see picture below, I taped those areas off just in case)

2. When installing the shafts, I know to center them in the arm and keep the shim count the same. Should I pack the end cap with grease before assembly or just grease through the zerk fittings after installation.

BTW, its so nice to start some assembly with fresh clean parts (its only been 2 years with the front clip off)

I just replaced all the control arm shafts on my truck.

1. I did not put anything on the threads to protect them from rust. My thought was that they will have grease on them anyway.

2. When I installed the shafts, I put a small amount of grease on the threads, just to ease the assembly process. Once they were fully installed, I filled them full of grease using the zerk fitting.

Please note that this may not be the "right" way of doing it, but this is the method that made the most sense to me.

Grease is ok on the threads, but dont put anything else (paint etc) The threads are so shallow, that it is easy to crossthread or get them jammed if there were paint in there.

I did the same as "brn agn", Little grease on the threads, then filled them up once everything was in place via the zerk.
