Just wondering how the new air ride feels? I was thinking going that route or coilovers like on the old hotrods.

Re: N2trux

I plan to do a wrap up on my build thread, but it's been raining here for three weeks now. Hopefully it will be nice enough this weekend to get it out and get quality pics.

A quick summary-

On the front I already had a C-20 sway bar, so the heavy duty "Muscle Bar" will be about the same. Having the Posi-Link end links will ceartainly allow better articulation and eliminate the possibility of binding. The addition of tubular Strong Arms won't make much difference as far as feel, but they will allow better alignment.

The rear is a complete different story. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the AOL system. It did exactly what we wanted by allowing us to bag the rear with minimal effort. The downside is it had a very narrow range of "sweet spot" that was dialed in by the use of a 2" block. Anything lower than the "sweet spot" and it bottomed out. If I set it a bit to high, the ride got stiff rather quickly.

With the AirBar 4 link installed, I have a much wider range of acceptable pressure settings. Probably triple of what it was. I can ride much lower and not bottom as easily. I can raise it higher and it's not as stiff. Some of this is because of the 4 link but most of it is due to the bag location. The location of the shocks and their angle is a benefit as well.

My thoughts are that if you want the best truly "bolt on" system offered, this is it.

Re: N2trux

It depends on what you are after. If you want to lay rockers then go with Porterbuilt. If you want to go as low as posible and not cut your bed or inner fenders, the Air Ride kit is the best bolt on system made.

N2TRUX if you could compare your truck to a static drop at ride height and airred out which drops would it be.5/7 or 6/8 4/6? Just would like a idea where it would sit at and roll.

Re: N2trux

I can't honestly answer that. Let me get some measurements with it at ride height and get back to you.

Re: N2trux

I measured it at full drop. It is 26" in front and 25" in the rear. I forgot to measure at ride height. I'll have to get those later.

Here it is air full up-

And down-

Re: N2trux

I have never tried to turn it much. I don't drive with it down expect slow rolling through the local cruise spots.
