Has anyone tried out these lowering control arms? They say the ride remains the same as stock and provides a 3" drop. With 2.5" spindles that would be just right for me. They are a little pricey but that's just me but a good ride is important to me to. Check out the link and see what you think thanx-Vernski

I don't have any experience with those control arms Vern, but something to consider is what diameter wheel are you going to run. If you run 15" wheels those control arms they might be below the bottom of the wheel, which is not 'legal'. I've been hearing more and more people around here getting pulled over and ticketed for things like that. Just something to think about.

I don't have any first hand experience with the lowering deal, but from what others have said, you don't loose much if any ride quality with dropped spindles and lowering springs. It's not at all like the 'torch drops' you see around here all to often.

Yeah Cap never gave much thought about the arms being illegal, but then again not everyone is square shooter out there. Well I think the 2.5 spindle and maybe a 2" coil cut would be livable and I do have 15" wheels on it now and could lose some tire height. Thanx for the info---Vernski

I stepped my own control arms 1.5" + 3" drop springs and am cutting it close as far as scrub line goes with 15" wheels. With a 3" drop LCA I'm almost positive you would have scrub line issues, especially with drop springs. Maybe it would be ok with stock springs, I don't really know. And you can forget about LCAs+drop spindles if you have 15" wheels, most manufactures say not to combine the two for scrub line reasons.

In case you don't already know, scrub line is the lowest point of the rim. You don't want anything below that because if you get a flat tire... well... i'm sure you get the idea. Things would get very ugly and dangerous.

I would use drop spindles and springs. I stepped my own because I'm on a really tight budget, and it should work very well, but drop-spindles really are the better way to go.

I'll sell you mine! I have some I bought but cant afford the uppers so they have been sitting awhile. What year truck do you have? The ones I have are for a 73-87 but bolt up perfectly to 66 era trucks.
