heater cables...which ones go where?
I just bought a new heater control unit and am trying to put the cables back on to the levels in the right places? Anyone know which ones go to the heat, fan, and defrost levers?
I have one leading to the firewall on the passenger side, another is going into the bottom of the heaterbox, the last one is going to the upper side of the heater box? Any help appreciated. Thanks all

Re: heater cables...which ones go where?
Here you go:
Bottom of the heater box goes to the middle lever (the one with the fan switch. Top of the heater box goes to the top lever, which controls where the air goes (Defroster or at your feet) The one going to the firewall goes to the bottom lever (controls the amount of heat coming in). If I can make a suggestion, I disconnected the middle cable that goes to the bottom of the heater box. The reason is because it makes a hard U-turn bend and it was pulling the controls apart. I guess back in the day, some people would put bolts through the rivet holes to help keep it together. I just flipped the lever by hand to save the damage to my new levers. |
