A 1999 G-van would actually have the trusty ole L31 5.7L 350 or possibly a L29 7.4L 454. The LS series (4.8, 5.3 and 6.0L) engines didn’t appear in the G-vans until 2003. If the van is indeed a 2500 or 3500 it would have a 4L80E.
And yes, LS engines still use the same ole Chevrolet Bellhousing that has been around for over 50 years.
