A 1999 G-van would actually have the trusty ole L31 5.7L 350 or possibly a L29 7.4L 454. The LS series (4.8, 5.3 and 6.0L) engines didn’t appear in the G-vans until 2003. If the van is indeed a 2500 or 3500 it would have a 4L80E.

And yes, LS engines still use the same ole Chevrolet Bellhousing that has been around for over 50 years.

the trans will bolt up on both the LS and non LS engines but you have to get a custom converter if you wanna run a other gm trans like a 700r4, th350-400. but no need to worry about that, since its a non LS engine the 4l80e will bolt up to what ever you want.

You dont need a custom converter. advance adapters has a kit that has a spacer and flexplate. 6.0s with the 4L80E came factory with a crank spacer
(99 6.0s had a special crank with the spacer made into the crank)
