Speakers?
Want to install stereo, two issues?
1. WHere mount speakers (6 round or 6x9?) doors? Kick panels? other? Should I knock hole in doors? Seems better, but now I would have perm hole in doors. However, lots of new cars have holes in doors...thoughts? 2. Subwoof. Anyone got good install? works well? Under seat? I am NOT removing gas tank from behind seat, under frame conv seems to suck, I dont want tank fill in my new bed. Tank hangs low under bed, just does not seem clean... Thanks, Steve |

Re: Speakers?
You could put 6x9s in the cab corners and 6" or 6.5" in the kick panels. There are some self contained, amped subs that will fit under the seat. Bose makes one and LMC sells one with an 8" woofer. They're square and sort of flat, great for under the seat if there's room. You could even add a couple of tweets under the dash in the stock speaker location. Everything would be relatively stealth but still sound good.

Re: Speakers?
Steve, I moved you to the Truck Audio section of the forum. You may not have noticed we had one.
This was in the 60-66 section, so I assume Steve has a 60-66.

Re: Speakers?
Placing a set of 6.5" speakers in the kicks will yeild the best results.
Shallow mount subs will work we under the seat, but make sure you use plenty of Dynamat on the floor.
