Preparing to put engine in.......clutch linkage question (pics)

My dad is visiting from out of state to help start work on the truck. Our plan is to get it as close to trying to start it as possible in 2 days (today and tomorrow) before he has to go home. This is my first time working with a manual transmission and dad said it's been so long he's not too sure. Anyway, question is how the clutch linkage hooks up. We have the fork and throw out bearing, but also a couple other pieces that we are not sure if they are part of the linkage, and if so, how they hook up. Timely help greatly appreciated.

It looks like you have the staggered motor towers for a 292 I6. You also have 2 motor stud brackets. The flat one for a V8 and the u-shaped one for an I6. I'm not sure if there is a difference between the stud brackets for a 250 and a 292 but from the looks of it you have everything except for the rod to the clutch fork, spring, and the 1/2" bolts to attach the brackets to the block.

The throwout bearing looks like it's had better days. You should probably replace it instead of re-using.

Is the clip intact in the clutch fork ball socket?

thanks. we are working on a 292 and figured out how the u shaped bracket attaches. The clip for the fork is intact. As you said we are missing the rod that goes to the fork. Does someone have a picture of that 'cause I don't know what it looks like and local NAPA store doesn't carry it.

This might be faster.
1,2,3,4,7 from the Clutch linkage and 9 from the clutch components.

Thanks guys, great info, great help. I just received my first LMC catalog yesterday, or the day, before and hadn't even thought of looking in it.

Just realized I probably should have post this on the 4x4 page to begin with, just forgot about it I guess. Anyway, the page out of the LMC catalog says these clutch linkage parts are for 2wd, will they work for 4wd also??? I called LMC and the person didn't know, just someone to take an order and only had the info on the screen in front of her. If anyone knows, please let me know as I need to order soon. If not, I'll move over the the 4x4 page and/or call again and talk to someone else.

I'm pretty sure 2 wheel vs 4 wheel clutch linkage parts are the same, the catalog will specify if it's 4 or 2 drive parts.

The rod would be the only variable and I would think v8 vs I6 transmission location would be most critical. I will get you a measurement for an I6 rod unless someone beats me to it.

That's what I thought too, but the catalog only list the push rod for 2wd. So it makes me think there must be a difference between 2 and 4wd, but there is no 4wd listing.
