gauge questions for flamingbig10 and ble 'burban

Hi - i was searching through some past threads on gauges, since i'm about to do mine over. Been looking high and low for some stuff you guys had in your pictures, so i was wondering if you would mind telling me where you got them!! Flamingbig10, it looks like you replaced your dash panel on the 80 c10 with a newer one that has your newer gauges in it. I ordered my gauges and need to replace the dash panel. I've called a few places, but some of the custom places don't make the cutouts to the right of the gauges for the heater, radio and pocket and some can't guarantee that my gauges (which lay flush with the panel and use bezels, like yours) will work in place of the original recessed gauges. Yours looks exactly like the original - that's what i want. Do you have the name or website of the place you ordered them from? And ble'burban, i have been looking for a white faced shift indicator, but have been unable to find one. Do you remember where you got yours? Thank you!! Oh, Flamingbig10, when you replaced your gauges, did you just put in the new gauges and wiring? I've noticed in the mags i have that they sell a control panel for the gauges that looks like it mounts on the back of the dash panel and surrounds the gauges. Was that just for the stock gauges or did you need one for your newer gauges too? I was hoping i could just pop new gauges in a new dash panel and replace the wiring harness and sending units and that would solve all the problems. I'm about out of money for this year and am hoping i don't need yet another part to make this all work!!! Thanks again!!

my gauges are made by equus and there available at Orielly auto parts, and i'm using a bezel from a 91 burb since it cover up hacked up radio opening from the past owner and a piece of sheet metal to hold the gauges I was able to use the stock sending units

My gauges are all factory gauges with white faced overlays on them that i got from WWW.WHITEGAUGES.NET
You can get a complete set of overlays from them for about $20.00 + frt.

Re: gauge questions for flamingbig10 and ble 'burban

Thanks for the answers! Flamingbig10, did the bezel you used from the suburban originally use the common recessed gauges before you put your replacements in? If i can't find a aftermarket bezel i like, i may just order the exact same bezel (cause mine was wrecked for a radio too). However, the places i have called have not been able to tell me if any gauge other than the original gauges would fit. Also, did you have to use that control panel they sell, or did you just replace the gauges and run the wiring straigt to where it needed to go? I am going to try and post some pics of the truck and gauges today, since they came last night while i was at work. They look sick!! Thanks again!

Note the fender held on by the bungee cord. Still trying to find the elusive replacement or determine how to best cut the fuel filler hose and mount it safely.
