my new crew cab

79 crew cab 400 sb 400 tranny. my plans is to make it into a dd some how would like to change it to 3/4 ton axels with better gears to get better gas mil.
it had a flat bed on it. thinking about 1/2 ton rearends. i just thinking how im going to change it.

Tough lookin truck! You might just be on the look out for a 1/2T frame. Changing all that heavy duty stuff might be more time consuming, than just swapping frames. I swapped cabs on my truck. Went from rusty 3/4T cab to nice loaded Silverado 1/2T cab. Piece of cake........Chassis was somewhat different between the two. Good luck. David

if it was me i would keep it stock look may new wheels, a stock dually bed and give it a fresh paint job and maby add a newer GM Diesel engine
