Steering box question

Just a quick question. I've got a 3/4t steering box and the front end out of a 1/2t and it doesn't look like my centerlink will bolt all the way up. It looks like the taper on the box is alot bigger that what will fit. Are these different sizes between the 1/2 and 3/4t boxes? If that is the case seeing as I already have a 3/4t box I will just use a ball joint reamer and open up the piece on my center link. Thanks guys.

Re: Steering box question

The manual steering box for the 1/2 ton and the manual steering box for the 3/4 ton are the same...the 4x4 manual steering box is different. Also, the factory Pitman arm on each box is slightly different, so they are not interchangable, without modifications.

I am referring to the '62-'66 Chevy trucks.

A GM Saginaw 605 power steering gear box will work on the 1/2 ton, 3/4 ton and 4x4 models of the '62-'66 Chevy trucks.

Re: Steering box question

Hey thanks Tony. I should have specified more. The box is out of a 67-72 I belive, and my front end steering stuff is out of a 1/2 ton 76 Chevy.
