Painting Rear Wheelwells - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

My weekend driver is white, and I want to paint the rear wheel wells (underside). Should I go with gloss for easier cleanup, or semi-gloss? Any input would be greatly appreciated, because I don't want to do this too many times. TF

I would use GM chassis black if it were me but if you drive it alot, you will have to repaint occasionally as this area will take a beating.

You might also try POR-15 as I think they have a semi-gloss black now. That would hold up the best.

POR 15 calls theirs "Chassis Black", also. Read the directions, I ruined a quart of expensive paint!

Hey TF where you been, I use gloss black on mine and you can get by a couple of times a year. You goin' to the Nats next month at the Forge?

Black rubberized undercoating has always worked and looked well for me.

POR-15 can be tricky to apply..read the directions to a "T" if you want it to work correctly.

You could use Dupli-color truck bed coating. It rolls on and is tuff.
