How to put larger u-joints into a 205?
I am going to put 1410 u-joints into my 72 chevy.
What do I have to do to get the larger yokes for the Np205 t-case. I know I need an output shaft with more splines, and they came stock in some Fords. I think that was only for the front. What do I need to the rear? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If it were me, I would just go with 1350's, because that is what 3/4 and 1 ton chevy's had stock. so the parts are easy to find. All you have to do is get the 1350 yokes off of another 205 or even a 203. the 203 is your best bet for the rear yoke because they are ultra common and most people are glad to part with them. For the front, your '72 205 will most likely have the corse splined output, so you are going to have to find a 1350 yoke out of an old truck. I do not beleive that they ever made a corse slined 4 bolt cv drive flange. I dont think there are any corse splined 203's but I could be wrong.
Hope that helps.

Jess at High Angle Driveline can supply you with what you need.
Your 205, if original, has the 10-spline front output shaft. They make a 1350 yoke for it, but I really doubt there is a 1410. If you indeed use a Ford 32 spline output shaft, then yes you can get a 1410. Jess at High Angle Driveline can supply you with all the 1410 yokes and driveshafts you need. If you do upgrade to the 32 spline front output shaft, let us know how it went because I am considering the same upgrade. -- Mike

It will probably be a while before get to it. Does anyone know about a Dodge NP205 t-case? I have a divorced version somewhere. Does it have the larger splines? Thanks in advance again

As for changing to the new style, fine-splined output in the 205 it is a direct swap that can be done with the case installed and only requires the removal of the front drive shaft and the cover on the back of the case directly behind the front output shaft. It inly took me about 2 hours at the most, pretty straight forward.

I found a pretty good page on how to do this at:
http://www.alaskaoffroad.com/tech_2.htm I bought a Dodge 203 and a Dodge 205 t-case on ebay last night for $57.83. It is in the next town, so no freight. I guess I will find out about a Dodge case real soon. Doubler anyone? I kinda feel sorry for the guy selling it, But he had no picture. Maybe I will feel sorry for myself after I see them

Yahoo,
I called the guy and he said he thought the Dodge 205 t-case had 1410 joints. The good Lord surely watches over fools like me!!
