adding rear jump seats . . .

Again, tonight I finally have some time to dish out some payback... meaning that I have gotten some great info here, along with some great ideas and I want to try to give some back.
Here is my 1969 Blazer I bought in September-ish..

It came with no top.. that is another post already..

It came without a back seat. I didn't want the normal bench and to be honest, didn't have alot of extra $$ to get one that would look great anyway. I also wanted to have something easy to remove. So I went to a local yard and grabbed the back seats out of a Pontiac transport minivan. Here is what is developing..

I will dye them black once everything is bolted down.

I made brackets to snap the seats in just like they were designed.. only I couldn't bring myself to cut open the bed floor and sink the mounts down into the floor. Here is a pic of them bolted down from the rear..

They also flip forward for more storage area.. here is the right one flipped forward.. and you can do it with one hand!

The other great thing about these seats is that they are very light. I can carry each of them with one hand, so I can pop them out anytime I want without needing help !

The only slight draw back is that since I didn't want to cut the bed floor, they sit a little high. Its not a problem for me as only my daughter is gonna be riding back there and she is 5. For a 6 foot person though, you are gonna jam your kneck on the top on the first bump.

I have 3 point harnesses that I have not installed yet...

I hope this post helps some of you or gives you some ideas !

Re: adding rear jump seats . . .

We had one of those vans, always thought the seating set up was great.

Cool way to make the K5 more versatile!
