Tire width for rally wheels

Hey guys, I am trying to get a set of rally wheels together for the winter. I have 15x6.5 for the front and 15x8 for the rear. What is the widest tire you guys would recommend for each? Thanks for the help

Re: Tire width for rally wheels

A 215/70-15 front and 275/60-15 would look good but the max I would go would be a 235 front and 295

Re: Tire width for rally wheels

15x 6.5 ??? measure again maybe 15 x 7..235/75 on the front an 295 for the rear try to keep the ratio qabout the same size heres a quick lonk to size up your tires

http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/infoTireMath.dos

you can play with # to get it to match your stock size so your speedo isn't off

Re: Tire width for rally wheels

On my 15x8 I run 295-50x15. They are 27 inches tall and 11 inches wide. Mine are the same on all four corners..

Rubbing, oh yeah. The fronts rub like mad, so they off they went to go on my square body instead. The speedo was also off quite a bit, but I am not sure just how much since I am not running these at the moment.. The rears seem to be fine, but the fronts were a no go..

A 235/70 on the front and a 275/60 on the rear fit the rims nicely and are very close to the same tire diameter so you can run one spare tire that will fit front & rear.

Re: Tire width for rally wheels

If you are using this as a true winter ride, avoid the low profile wide tires. A taller/narrower tire is better in snow.

I would run 235/75x15 up front and 255/70x15 on rear for a winter ride. They would end up both being the same height tire and a good all around combo for winter driving (depending on tread pattern).

these are the set ups I'm using now I can slam it with a cnotch and cupped lca and no rubbing ..I did add 3/4" to the panard bar to get the wheel back into to center of the truck
I think in the spring I wil cut the inner fenders and tub the rear a bit for the fat rear tires..but that is subject to change if I get another project truck..this is a great DD set up

Re: Tire width for rally wheels

Here is what a 275/60-15 looks like on a 15x7 rim. The 8" rim just flattens it out a bit. It will work on a 10" rim too but that is pushing it a little.

I can't find any of the pics of the 275/60 on a 10. Probably on the other computer.
