New parts on the horizon........

As many of you know Classic Heartbeat has been partnering with American, OEM manufacturers to produce a line of parts that have been sorely needed for some time now. Our rubber grommets and retainers are manufactured from high quality MBR/PVC, with antioxidants and "UV" protectors blended in. Other reproduction rubber parts made today are manufactured using natural rubber and do not have the antioxidants or "UV" protectors. This, in most cases causes premature cracking, tearing, fading, and other premature degrading of their products. Our parts have been extensively test fitted to assure that every one fits like it came from GM. Once installed, our grommets look and function just like the originals. The difference is they are highly "UV" resistant, oil resistant, and they resist tearing. They also seal better than the originals and will not crack or fade like other rubber products on the market today.

In case you didn't know what rubber parts we make, they are the 67-72 Oil Pressure Line Grommet, Windshield Washer 3 Hole Grommet, Speedometer Cable Grommet, A/C Inlet & Dehydrator Outlet Tube Grommet, and Firewall Pad Retainers and like I said these are being made in the USA. (Not India, or Taiwan)

We will be adding 2 more grommets to our exclusive line of parts in December.
One is the 67-72 A/C Control Cable Firewall Grommet and the other is the 71-72 1 1/2" Fuel Filler Neck Grommet.
As many of you already know the current 71-72 1 1/2" Filler Neck Grommet on the market today in our opinion is a poor reproduction. Once installed they normally crack and fade within 30 days. This is because of what I stated above, however our's are as good if not even better than even the original GM parts, because todays USA blends are better than ever. WES

WHOO HOO.... Thank you Thank you Thank you Wes! I have been wanting a better fuel neck grommet for years. NOS are few and far between and the last reproduction I had, lasted for about a years before cracking really bad. I will gladly buy one of these from you when you get them. Thanks Trevor

Re: New parts on the horizon........

Your welcome 71blksuper4x4. We are tired of the junk that some companies offer too. They will not be a cheap as the repops on the market today, but they will be the best. We should have about 250 on hand once we receive delivery. They will be priced comparitivly to the original GM grommets. WES

Hard to find good rubber products today with antioxidants in them.

this is one of the many reasons I tell people to spend money with you Wes. You are a h*ll of a guy, and you actually care about the trucks and the customers

Re: New parts on the horizon........

Thanks Andy. I just get fed up with the quality of some of the aftermarket parts like everyone else does. So if I am going to produce or have produced parts, they must fit my standards and thats it!! WES

Thanks,Wes,for putting more "hit" in the hit & miss of reproduction. Also,it`s one thing to only have one choice to a new part replacement. It`s another to admit it ain`t so great. The consumer can make their own choice. You`re good on that, too.

Re: New parts on the horizon........

I don't wan't to make it sound like all reproduction parts are bad, because that just isn't true. There are lots of great reproduction parts out there. However when the reproduction part is bad, they can be realy bad. This is why I warn everyone about a problem with a particular part that I know to be a problem. I will give some examples:
68-72 Deluxe Side Markers. For several years now the stainless steel bezels have been falling off of them. 2 manufacturers that I know of and they are both bad. (Bad glue, or waiting to long to apply the bezels after the glue is applied) So I try to stear you to GM instead.
67-87 Licence Plate Lamps I just received a batch that the wires just fall out of the back of them, because the manufacturer forgot a part when assembling them. I have had other problems with them too, so I warn people about them.
72 Door panels don't fit well and they are not made the same as the originals. So you can't install the SS, or woodgrain molding.
I could go on and on, but that is not what this thread is about.
I didn't get into selling parts just for the sake of making money, (however I do have to make a living) I got into this hobby to be a part of preserving these trucks for generations to come. And you can't do that with some of the junk parts out there. WES
