Muffler/Control Arm PICS NEEDED!!
Good day everyone. I'm in real need of Pics/Video of how you have run your Mufflers and Systems with our REAR control/Trailing arm suspensions.
I'm getting ready to install my AreoChambers and I really want to make sure I run my pipes right. I'm planning on going over the axle out the rear side, between the rear tire and the Bumper. I need all the PICS of everyones systems that run Control arms, PLEASE! Thanks to everyone.

I think he means trailing arms not control arms

Re: Muffler/Control Arm PICS NEEDED!!
He is correct, trailing arms are control arms. It is like the front upper and lower "A" arms are also front upper and lower control arms. "A" arms is slang as is trailing arms. WES

Re: Muffler/Control Arm PICS NEEDED!!
Okay, I edited it to be a little more clear. REAR Suspension, Trailing arms/Control Arms.
I don't want the mufflers under the cab and I'd like to get them as far back as possible before the Axle (that would the REAR axle ) and my main question is: can these be postioned in the area between the frame/Trailing arm and axle? Plus, what about the routing of pipe to this point and the routing around/under the arm? ANY help will be greatly apperciated and ANY pics please. Thanks

Re: Muffler/Control Arm PICS NEEDED!!
Just so you guys know, I know the front "a arms" are control arms, hence my joke
I've seen a lot of pics of guy's setups in the past...I'm a couple months out from running my exhaust. If you're still looking I'll post them when I do it! |

Re: Muffler/Control Arm PICS NEEDED!!
I just cut mine off for the air bags. If ya close to Niagara you can have the tail pipes.
I have to dump before the axle now. Which I like better now anyways. More room for the fuel cell and getting at the bed bolts are easier now too. Happy welding

Re: Muffler/Control Arm PICS NEEDED!!
okay, this wasn't intended to be an exhaust pic, just ones I took when I got my truck to mark progress. Since my bed was so f'd up, you can see the exhaust! Mine was 2.5" pipe, routed under the cab, made a bend UNDER the front part of the control arm, then to the muffers. I had offest in/center out mufflers, with the mufflers mounted up & down ways instead of flat, with the offset pointing forward and closest to the ground, over the axle (center outlet) and straight out the back under the rear bumper. I have the old pipes cut out of the truck now, but I still have them and can take pics of them this weekend if you need them.
the red line is about where the trailing arm is, the yellow circle is the muffler. both sides where done the same, but you can only see the one. Hope this helps, I know the pic sucks!

Re: Muffler/Control Arm PICS NEEDED!!
here is a couple of mine a local shop installed. They dump right before the axle so can't help with tailpipe routing

Re: Muffler/Control Arm PICS NEEDED!!
Yep, mine is pretty well the same as the pics. I don't have any pictures of it, but the exhaust pipes run back and turn up just after that cross member that holds the center bearing for the drive shafts. My mufflers are next right in between the trailing arms before the rear axle, then the pipe goes over the axle and out the rear between the tire and bumper on each side. I'm not sure that there is any better way to do it if you want to dump the pipes between the back tire and bumper.
