thinking about a new transmission
i just got my new '68 K10 and it has the original transmission (four on the floor) that came with the straight six. But now it has a chevy V8 350 and i was wondering if any one has any good suggestions for a new transmission in this thing.

Re: thinking about a new transmission
Drop in a 5 speed manual truck tranny, like an NV4500... Either that, or trick it out and go with a Gear Vendors! Not only should you find some way to get an O/D gear, but adding more gears is always a plus as well. Good luck an keep us posted on what you do...

Re: thinking about a new transmission
You'll probably want to make your question more specific. You want an automatic, or a manual, need an overdrive? Got any fab skills? Budget friendly, and if so, what kind of budget are we talking about?
Mostly, why do you need to swap the tranny? |

Re: thinking about a new transmission
No need to swap transmissions unless you don't like the 4 speed with the granny low.
My '71 has a 350 with the granny low 4 speed as does my '67 with a l6 I am kind of old school and like the reliability of the transmission and it reminds me of the old days. Danny
