OK guys Im looking at buying new tires tomorrow 04-15-03.

Im looking at some 275/60R15

My question is will these fit both 8" wide and 10" wide wheels?

Can someone post a link that shows tire width to wheel width comparisons, as far as what will fit on what wheel.

Here is something I found online:

It says:
Rim width range: 7" to 11"

But it also says:
Meas. Rim Width: 8"

WTF does that mean?

I take that as it will fit any rim fron 7" to 11" width, but whats the deal with the meas. rim width 8" ?

With the 10" rim, you'll get a better contact patch on the tire. (Bigger footprint) A 275 is meant for a 9.5" wheel...

275/60/15 looks best on a 15x8. they will fit on a 10 inch wheel but look funny imo. the 8 inch rim width its talking about is i think if you mesure the tire from bead to bead while its not on a wheel it will measure 8 inches and fits best on that wheel. if you put it on a 10 inch wheel it pulls the side walls out to fit the edges of the rim and lessens the shoulder definition between the tread and the side wall, in outher words it will loke more like a doughnut

Im gonna call the tire shop today and see what brands I can get in both tire sizes.

EDIT:
Well I searched for that tire again and cant find it in that size anymore.

What a paid in the arse it is.
I guess im going with the BFGoodrich Radial T/A's, they are the only ones I can find that make both sizes I would prefer.
Hopefully I can get them in town (maybe in a local warehouse somewhere) and not have to order them special.
So here is what Im ending up with:
15"x8" wheel 275/50SR15 101S $97
15"x10" wheel 295/50SR15 105S $98

See I tried to find that sort of info on Tire rack and I was drawing blanks for the brand tire I have. I just picked up a 88 2500 burb tow rig and it still has the pizza pan hub caps that I HATE. The tries have plenty of life in them so I want to keep them. I found a used set of rims I like for a reasonable price but I think they may be to wide for the current tires. THe tire is a Michelin 235/85x16 on a 6-6.5 rim and the rims for sale are 8 inch wide.

I ended up going with these as they are available in town. The BF's are not easy to find here in Phoenix for some reason. 5 Day wait on them.
