traded my van for this 84
Last week I traded my van for this 84 chevy sw with 383 stroker auto open headers right now no interior but I was hooked when he pulled it off the trailer
my astro was bagged in the front and hard lowered in the rear someone tell me I didnt screw up |

two different animals... the van looked pretty well done this is a diamond in the rough... half the fun of owning is working on it.... this will turn out better than the first... what are the plans?

make a list of parts that you want. and then hit every junk yard around for 50 miles there are a lot of those truck at the salvage yards right now because of the cash for clunkers deal.

congrats bud!.... first step I would do is get a proper air filter. that thing is funny as heck! lol I think you will have tons of fun with the ol girl.

I hope the owner did not run the track with same air filter. The air filter is choking the engine. Install at minimum a 4" filter. I suggest a 4.5" K&N. I bet you'll notice the difference.

My opinion is you made a great trade. I'm just not into the Astro vans, however, yours looked pretty nice. Like Joe231 said Welcome to the boards, and make sure and make your way over to the Oklahoma section.

I hate astro vans, because they suck to work on and most of my shoes are too wide to fit between the dog house and brake peddle. I've never had that problem in a truck! You can do the same work to the truck and it will look better because it is a truck. Nice trade.
