Pics of dad's 71 GMC swb step at my High School's 60th, my 20th reunion
Sorry these are so dark. I was using the wife's new camera, which has better resolution than our old one, but I haven't figured out how to use it yet! The brush fire truck is a '76 1 ton that is still in service by the volunteer fire dept in Lolita, Tx, near Port Lavaca. Not sure who the '55 3/4 ton or '65 1/2 ton belong to (?)They were both pretty well original, unrestored, but "fixed up" nicely.

Re: Pics of dad's 71 GMC swb step at my High School's 60th, my 20th reunion
I grew up between Lolita and Vanderbilt near the Lavaca River. My parents owned the Lolita Community Store from 1973- 1986 or there abouts. I graduated from Industrial High School (consolidated school) in 1989. My dad was on the school board for a few years. His name is second from the top. We had a celebration of the 60th anniversary of the school district this past weekend. Things have really changed on campus, but the great people in a small town never change. There were only 60 kids in my graduating class! Almost 20 showed up for our 20th reunion get together. The last one is me holding our class T shirt. It still fits (since it was an XL, HAHA), but it was still wet from the washer or I would have had it on. I couldn't get any of the ladies to put it on either! HAHA

Re: Pics of dad's 71 GMC swb step at my High School's 60th, my 20th reunion
I found a brighter one of the fire truck. I know this is supposed to be a 67-72 thread, but who can resist an original 1976 Chevrolet K30 4x4 with a 350 and granny four speed, original paint and 44k miles? We originally lived down the street from the "Fire Hall" as we called it and I can remember going to see it when it was new and the community scraped enough money together to buy it in '75 or '76 and seeing it come flying down the street when it was just a few years old, til we moved to a bigger house outside of town... Sorry, just got caught up in Nostalgia!
