Question 2 1/2ton Rockwell install info/pics needed.

I have a set of military rockwells still under a M35 6x6 that I'm looking to install under a 80's Suburban or 80"s pickup... Just for a mud/trail truck...

If anyone has done the swap on here can I get some detailed pics of the steering and suspension setup?

Also how much lift is needed to clear ~48's...

I have the axles, one locker, a 1990 12v cummins motor, and a couple th400/np208 setups laying around... I have a few mil blazers but I want to build a longer wheelbase rig...

Re: 2 1/2ton Rockwell install info/pics needed.

ok first ya need to debrake the axles cut all the brake parts away from axle housing . then get a set of pinnion brakes from diy4x4 measure for the spring perch width an put them under the truck . you can either run hydro assit steering or full hydro .my suggestion full hydro .you need to get a load sensitive orbital valve an one that you can still turn even if motor is not running . you will probly need atleast 20 inches of lift in order not to cut the fenders. you can build a set of drop hangers an use some big lift springs .with or without bod lift completely up to you .you can put big blocks an springs in the rear just ave to have some traction bars comeing off the bottom of the axle .here is a couple of pics of mine under my 97 chevy by the way the hogs head will be pointed at the chevy side i think it is to start

My brother just bought a 69 GMC 4x4 1/2ton that we might end up doing the build on... If so we'll do a build thread..
