I changed my 80 truck from man. to auto shift on the column but I can.t find the sweet spot for the bottom linkage from tranny to frame.Line it up in park but as I shift it it goes all cockeyed,I,ve looked at a 78 truck and is all the same linkage etc but could a 80 frame be different than a 78 ? I,m stumped

sorry ,found the problem,shifter arm on tranny is 1/2 in.forward instead of in the center,off to the tranny shop I go
