What are these?

Ok I have seen it on a few trucks now and Ive been wonder what they are? Storage?
(Oh, And this is board member "Zoom"'s truck.)

They are a step so you can easily reach into the bed.

Those are a GM accessory. The doors would be the tool box door on the pass side of the 70-72 longbeds. Somewhat rare.

I don't think you have seen one with a door on the drivers side, but they did have them on the passenger side. It was a little storage area/tool box, I believe they were only on longbeds, but I'm could be wrong there.
