Scoot the little lady over next to ya, that leaves a little room for the chairs, beer, and dog(least that's the rule in my truck....all this of course is if you have a bench seat!)....
500 miles on the truck and I haven't scooted her over. That's my next mission come a sunny day! I got a buddy bucket, so I'm good to go.

The truck is atomic orange metallic.

Re: Custom storage box ideas

Thanks to the VW scene over here involving loading your VW down with all sorts of "period" crap (however unrelated it seems to be to the actual period of the car) they've become really expensive over here. I was looking at a fairly ratty Coke cooler at a car show this summer and the guy wanted £150 for it

Re: Custom storage box ideas

I got a old foot locker at a sale for $3 bucks. Has a tag dated 1947, gonna paint to match the truck. Its big enough to carry what I want. And for a cooler I had to get a old Coleman and sticker it up like Andys!! It was gave to me!!

Re: Custom storage box ideas

It shouldn't be that hard to build a nice wood box that matches the bed and set it up so that it bolts down using a a couple or more of the existing bolts in the truck.

Maybe build the box out of marine plywood and cover the top and face with the oak. Use some marine latches and hinges and you would have a nice looking addition to the truck. There should be some guys in your area that do boat woodwork that could build the box for you if you are like me and your best woodwork product is sawdust.
