hard top re sealing problem
Ok i have replaced all the gaskets but the one in the front seams to be to thick so the top will not go forowad enough to seal the windows top needs to come forward more ANY SUGGESTIONS?

You've probably already tried this, but maybe loosen the small brackets on the window frame to let them out to meet the hard top. I had to do this and then tighten the brackets alternating side to side. If it won't reach maybe put the brackets on the hardtop and then use screws that are too long to just get it started.

You've just got to keep working it. I had similar problems – i took a while to get it bolted down after replacing the seals.

I put the rear bolts in first (the ones that bolt to the side where the tailgate closes). That gave me a place to put some leverage on the front. Then I loosened the bolts on the two center front brackets to where there were only a couple of turns holding them in. I used a drift to pull the brackets (and the top) down until I could get the longer bolts into the sun visor brackets.
No matter what you do, it's a fight to get the top on tight when you replace the seals. Good luck. |

Yes i bought my 71 blazer in Carson City and lived in Jackson so i can under stand why i live in southeast texas lots of rain.
