PS Box
I need to replace the power steering box on my 71 chevy LWB. Are there any boxes more desirable than others?

My present one is off of an 80's truck. It started to leak so I want to replace it.

Did it bolt right up? or did you have washers and shims in there? Wondering cuz my 67 frame has indentations, does your frame? Thanks Man

I once installed a power box off a late 70's truck on to my 72 Jimmy that I used to have, it was a simple, straight-forward bolt on. I believe in the eighties gm started using a "metric" power steering box, you will want to avoid those. The bolt pattern should be the same-4 bolts onto the frame-you should'nt have any problems bolting a newer box on. Check the wrecking yards, tons of 'em are around still.

Installing hoses would be a PITA. You'd need a hose with SAE fittings on one end,a dn metric on the other...or some sort of stupid adapter or something.

Don't know how your parts stores are up in Canada, but you can still get new PS boxes here for around $125
