Cool End of the Season

I guess I consider myself lucky - here it is Nov. 14th in MICHIGAN no less - and I was able to be out driving the truckster... NICE! Probably the last time this year I'd imagine. I envy all of you that live in states / locations that promote yearly driving... a 3-4 month deprivation begins once the snow flies!

A few pictures from tonight before I headed home...

I know what you mean Jermz01... winter is not my favorite of seasons. Glad to hear you got the truck out and great looking pics, regardless if they are photoshopped.

winter is the season for cool beater trucks... floor boards are optional... as are rockers and cab corners and bedsides.
Heater and wipers are mandatory though

Re: End of the Season

I feel you. I grew up up in the Thumb and had to put the hot rod up every November and bring it out again in April, once all the salt was washed away. Now living in the south since I've been in the service. It gets a little warm in the summer, but the year around cruising with no salt makes it worth it. BTW, beautiful truck! Cnut

Thanks for the pics. Normally I wouldn't care for that color if you told me what color it was. But now that I see what it looks like in the pics..Yes..I like that color on your step..

Re: End of the Season

even hough my truck is a DD I don't see it going out much in the snow with the 2wd I think I would be stuck in the driveway....if it the roads clear up then who knows .....hard to believe I/we drive our other trucks which in my case is worth way more than My 70..in the crap???

Kinda like why do most of us keep a pile of junk in our garages while our new cars sit outside??

Honestly... I have no idea... I bought it finished... God didn't give me the skill set to chop a roof and put it back on (and have it look good)... haha

Sammy - I would have never painted the truck that color myself either... but with the ghost flames on the hood and sides... well... it works for me

Re: End of the Season

Here in my area, I'm just now starting to drive my truck. I drive it sparingly during the summer because of the hot weather and no A/C. A lot of high 90 and 100+ degree weather discourages a lot of usage.

Re: End of the Season

Both of my trucks are used often around the farm, but less in the winter.

Since the weather is not real bad down here in the winter I can drive them most of the year.

When we get ice or snow I jump in the '86 4-Runner and play. We bought it new and it has really come in handy over the years.

good looking truck, not a huge fan of chops, but yours pulls it off nicely, and yes winter sucks but thats what the z71 is for.

I drive mine year round too
One of the (few) advantages to owning junk.
I guess another advantage is last time I spilled a dew it landed over a large hole and drained right out into the street. It was a sad way for a dew to go though.

Agreed!Mine's a 4x4 so I'm good to go.And mine's missing the outer rockers and carpet right now.Hopefully that will have changed in a month or so, though.

Re: End of the Season

Mine is a 2 wheel drive, but IMO it doesn't snow here enough to warrent a 4X4... not for that reason anyways. I can't stand a cab without something covering the floor. No carpet in mine, just the plastic mat, and some big truck mud flaps to cover the holes. My rockers are still there, but in 2 more years they'll be gone if I don't replace the cab by then.

Re: End of the Season

We don't usually get that much snow here either and if we do I'm sure I'll use my Nisan to play in it,but I just like having a vehicle that I can stick in 4 wheel drive and go if I want.I've been using my 72 for my DD the last while and got 7.5 mpg on the last tank,so I may be driving my Nissan more.17.4 on the last tank just running around local.

But I think I got off the subject.Awesome truck,jermz01.I'm not a huge fan of step sides but I'm lovin yours.

Wow, nice truck! You may not know how to chop a roof, but you sure know how to take a picture.

I love driving my truck in the rain, it the only time I got power to keep the rear-end sideways long enough to yell, "Weeeeee!"
