Seat Belt Compatibility

I did a search the best I could (built in seems to be disabled) but could not find solid info. Has there been anything compiled on seat belts and which models/years are direct bolt ins?

I need to find a replacement belt assembly for my truck to get it inspected and on the road. Local yard has a ton of belts from newer Chevys but none (that aren't cut > ) that have the exact same retractor as my current setup.

Anyone have any good info? Would prefer a direct bolt in without any fab work if at all possible.

Re: Seat Belt Compatibility

I believe you can just bolt these in. I have seen others do it, and I will most likely buy a set.

Re: Seat Belt Compatibility

That looks like the belts I put in my truck. I found mine from jcwitney for about $90. I looked at redoing mine but most people don't want to and put your life in their hands if something fails, plus my retractor was not working properly so bought new ones.

Re: Seat Belt Compatibility

I was wandering if a set out of the 90 model trucks would work?

Re: Seat Belt Compatibility

Not sure but I know most junkyards won't sell seatbelts due to safety reasons.

Re: Seat Belt Compatibility

I just put a set like Wild83C10 shows in his link, they work pretty good. When pulling out they tend to lock if you don't pull in the correct direction. You can see by ther pic that they fit really well in the same place the factory one sit.

Re: Seat Belt Compatibility

I tried some of the universal ones and didn't like them. The retractor didn't have the cojones to pull the seat belt back in, I had to feed it back in. I ended up sending them back. Of course there's probably several different brands, the ones I got were from LMC.

Also, the dual retractor setup these trucks come with is a luxury. Only luxury cars or convertibles have them these days. This allows you to put the seat belt on with one hand. GMT800 trucks do pretty well with a single retractor setup (seat belts are integrated into the seat), but for the belt routing on our trucks the dual retractor setup is just nice to have.

I'd love to get mine rebuilt and rewebbed but I can't find a place that will do it. Those of you with rewebbed belts, where are you getting this done and how much did it cost ?
