It is a baffled tank and I have the pump sitting down about 1/4 inch above the bottom of the tank. I could move it down further but was afraid to get it might cause some restriction if I had it sitting right on the bottom of the tank.

The return is a stainless tube and is also about 1/4" off of the bottom. I was a little concerned that it exists right were the pump intake is. I was thinking about running a rubber hose away from the intake.

Leave the return where it is the returned fuel will also feed the pump.
