Need heater controls for 79 Suburban

Anyone have the heater controls for a 79 Suburban? Mine is in bad shape (can't turn off fan). No air.

If you are looking for heat only controls go to your local GM dealer. You should be able to buy a brand new ac delco unit for around $30. I just bought one a few months ago. The funny thing is when I checked out some other suppliers they wanted $80 for the exact same part, go to the dealer for this item!

FYI, in our model years, the fan does not shut completely off. It uses the fan for cab ventilation. I heard this some time ago in a past post.

What year did they allow the fan to turn off?
I hear this alot, but my 83 has always turned off, when I turn the fan off. But someone has played with the setup and added an aftermarket (POS) A/C system.

Eddie, are you saying the whole control unit is only $30 at GM? Or just the switch on the left?

Thanks,

The HVAC control panel in my 79 K5 was trashed...and while i was in the dash adding a power window harness i swapped in a 89 burb control panel....slight change in the wiring and the heater cable can be screwed in as left a hole for that....then you have to adjust the cable and thats it....and now the fan turns off completely!

i saw this thread last night, and went to try and strip out a junk cab my uncle and i have had sitting for a while, and wasnt sure if it would be good or not. well, it turns out it was (out of a '79 K20 (w/o AC) but it was too brittle, when i took the connector loose off of the blower switch, it cracked the face plate in half. sorry, i was thinking about you though.

BIGRED Yes im saying that for my 83 (which is slight different then a 79) the heater controls (entire assembly, not just the switch) was only like $30-$35 brand new from Courtsey Chevrolet in Phoenix, Arizona. If you can not find this same deal shoot me a message and I will contact them again and see if the price is the same. By the way if you go with this unit you will need a new fan switch plug. I hunted and posted and hunted, then finaly found one this weekend in a junk yard. Its in prefect shape, I cleaned it off and its like brand new, its great. There were many others too. If you need any plugs or special in dash connections let me know I will check this yard. They had some sub. that were stripped but the wiring and plugs looked great.

EDIT:
I dont remember seeing a heat only control unit at the junk yard, but I did see a ac controls that were in pretty damn good shape, I could probly find them again, if someone makes me an offer.
